We as a society are always in a rush, we are going somewhere doing something that cannot wait. We even augment the speed of an escalator by running up on the left side. We are a consumer society that does not even want to wait for the food, we want fast food. We have developed devices that pump music into our ears. We have stopped to listen to ourselves, we have stopped to look. We have started to let things define us. That maddening rush is like a fast moving river. River of people going somewhere, finding something that will define them.
